Mid-South Psychiatric Services was established to deliver accessible, high-quality, evidence-based care in a calming and supportive environment.

We provide compassionate and personalized mental health services to adults, teens and children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. We treat the following conditions in adults and children.

Meet the Doctor

Ethel Cobbett, MD

Dr. Cobbett is board-certified in both Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and Adult Psychiatry. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University then went on to graduate from East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine. Dr. Cobbett completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

Dr Cobbett is licensed in Tennessee and Mississippi. Dr. Cobbett has practiced in various settings, including acute care, inpatient and outpatient private and community mental health centers. She specializes in treating childhood disorders and adult disorders with modern medications and evidence-based therapies, while focusing on the whole person, mind and body.

Dr. Cobbett is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the Nashville Academy of Medicine.

Outside of clinical practice, she enjoys traveling, photography, collecting antiques, cooking, reading and spending quality time with her family, friends and pets.

Care for teens navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, mood swings, stress, trauma, and other concerns that interfere with school, relationships, and functioning.

Adults

Psychiatric assessment and treatment for adult patients experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, psychosis, and other conditions affecting daily life.
